With a crime rate of 59 per one thousand residents, Minneapolis has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 17.

It is critical that we understand how to embrace equity for all.  It's time for deeply embedded racial biases, resulting in recurring and brutal violence against our Black fellow Americans, be rooted out.

My goal is to create safer and healthier communities for our children. Our Youth Programs should equip children with the tools necessary to think critically about the real-world challenges . Through this programming, we are helping children cultivate empathy, compassion and increase their understanding of personal responsibility for people.
